As products and experiences become more complicated or gain new features, interaction design is the way to ensure a highly usable, focused product that delights consumers and supercharges business value.
Interaction design isn't graphic design. (You probably figured that out once you saw my "logo" at the top of the page.) Interaction designers care about design research, brainstorming, mood boards, concept generation, wireframing, flow diagrams, prototyping, usability testing, and implementation.
We make experiences as simple as possible, but no simpler.

Portfolio Review
All portfolio piecesA review of my select interaction design portfolio pieces. Questions about something you see here? Mail me.
- Vacatio home page concept — When Vacatio wanted an experiential homepage that would easily communicate product value and minimize site bounce rate, they asked me to generate several wireframes. This version is the final iteration agreed on by the team.
- SecondSpace wireframe — Rapid wireframing became indispensable to SecondSpace through their version 1 development process. Quickly generating ideas, mocking them up in OmniGraffle, and testing them formally and informally gave the development team time to create a highly usable product.
- Vacatio persona analysis — Take a series of in-person interviews using contextual inquiry, ethnographic studies observing people's behavior, and mix thoroughly to create personas. This helped the team understand how people construct vacations and focus their priorities for their first version product.
- Project X sitemap — Lining up boxes with arrows isn't commonly loved by the IA, but going through the exercise of laying out a site on a piece of paper can help teams visualize a site holistically and quickly identify holes in the application. And it never hurts if the site map is aesthetically pleasing to boot.
- Vacatio design brief — Delivering effective design isn't enough. Communicating reasoning behind design decisions helps clients understand motivations and puts everyone on a the same page with respect to theories, goals, and success criteria. This makes the review process all the more productive.
